DAS Solar Zhangzhou Base Gets TÜV SÜD Zero Carbon Factory Verification Certificate

2024-08-08

Zhangzhou, Aug. 8, 2024 - Recently, DAS Solar's Zhangzhou Base received Zero Carbon Factory Verification Certificate from TÜV SÜD, becoming DAS Solar’s first zero carbon factory.

Achieving zero carbon factory standards requires companies to use energy-saving technologies, emission-reducing technologies, and renewable energy substitution technologies to maximize emissions reductions. This aims to achieve an intensive, efficient, green, and low-carbon development model, optimizing industrial and energy structures. According to the T/CECA-G 0171-2022 Zero Carbon Factory Evaluation Standard, Zhangzhou Base achieved the standard during the assessment period.

DAS Solar Zhangzhou Base is the only PV manufacturing base in the southeastern region of Fujian Province, China. In the zero carbon factory assessment, the Zhangzhou Base scored highly in areas such as infrastructure, energy smart information management systems, energy resource input, products, greenhouse gas reduction measures, and carbon offsets. It exceeded requirements for national, industry, and local energy consumption limits regarding total energy consumption and performance intensity.

As a promoter and practitioner of new energy, DAS Solar integrates green and sustainable development goals into every aspect of its business strategy. The company has set a "zero carbon goals" implementation plan: completing the first zero carbon factory by 2024, achieving carbon peaking by 2030, and reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.

With GB/T24001 and GB/T23331 standards, DAS Solar has established comprehensive environmental and energy management systems and has been certified to ISO14067. The Zhangzhou Base uses high-efficiency, low-energy consumption equipment, and advanced production processes to reduce energy and resource consumption.

Throughout the product lifecycle, DAS Solar uses eco-design concepts to reduce raw material and energy consumption, use low-carbon materials, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By applying standards such as ISO14067, the company conducts carbon footprint assessments or verifications to improve and certify the carbon footprint of its products. Additionally, DAS Solar uses PV products in high-energy consumption factory areas to supply green power for green products. Currently, the 7.3MW project is connected to the grid at the Zhangzhou Base, with an expected annual power generation of 8 million kWh.

DAS Solar has obtained French Carbon Footprint ECS certification and EPD certification, achieving low-carbon sustainable development through green production, management, logistics, packaging, and recycling. As of 2023, DAS Solar reduced standard coal consumption by approximately 12.34 MT annually, and CO2 emissions by about 35.96 MT. In the future, DAS Solar will continue to focus on technological advancement and green development to enhance resource utilization efficiency and promote sustainable growth.
