The "SEMI SCC Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development Summit Forum" was held by Semiconductor Climate Consortium (hereinafter referred to as SCC) and Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (hereinafter referred to as SEMI) in Shanghai recently. The summit centered on low-carbon environmental preservation, energy efficiency, emission reduction, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations. Esteemed executives from the semiconductor and energy industries were invited to engage in collaborative discussions and released the world's first "White Paper on Low Carbon Transformation in the Electronics Industry". Dr. Song Dengyuan, the Chief Technology Officer of DAS Solar, was invited to join and chaired this forum and participate in the panel discussion on the journey toward carbon neutrality.
Dr. Song stated, "As a leading N-type brand, DAS Solar is dedicated to the development of 'dual carbon' targets and views technological innovation as a catalyst for corporate growth." DAS Solar focuses on integrating the principles of low-carbon, green, and environmentally friendly practices into photovoltaic cell manufacturing and modules. DAS Solar improves mass production average cell efficiency to exceed 25.5%, reducing silicon wafer thickness by more than 10%, and digitizing the entire manufacturing process. Through the utilization of a significant proportion of green energy, DAS Solar achieves a reduction of over 20% in carbon emissions per watt during the manufacturing of PV modules. Additionally, DAS Solar has successfully addressed the critical technological and equipment challenges associated with recycling discarded modules, facilitating the accelerated implementation of essential recycling technologies and comprehensive equipment for module recovery. During the forum, SEMI unveiled the "White Paper on Low Carbon Transformation in the Electronics Industry." Mr. Ju Long, Vice President of SEMI, expressed that the white paper explores the opportunities and challenges of carbon neutrality in the electronics industry. It highlights specific instances of carbon reduction implemented by semiconductor companies, proposes carbon reduction targets and recommendations, and outlines the pathway to carbon reduction throughout the semiconductor industry.
In April of 2023, DAS Solar released its inaugural ESG report, elucidating the path to sustainable development across society, and corporate governance. According to the data, DAS Solar save approximately 7.18 million metric tons of standard coal annually. As of the end of 2022, DAS Solar successfully reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 17.95 million metric tons. Also, DAS Solar N-type modules passed the French carbon footprint ECS certification. As a promoter and practitioner of green energy, DAS Solar contributes a powerful force towards achieving low-carbon emissions and fostering green, sustainable economic development.
