São Paulo, Aug. 27, 2024 - Intersolar South America 2024 kicked off in Brazil, where DAS Solar presented its latest N-type 4.0 series, lightweight modules, and portable photovoltaic products. Intersolar South America is a leading solar industry event in Latin America and worldwide, focusing on PV and solar thermal energy. The Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association estimates that Brazil's installed solar capacity will exceed 42.4 GW in April 2024, representing an increase of 50% over the previous year and accounting for 18% of the country's electricity needs. A series of policy measures have been implemented by the Brazilian government to promote the growth of a green economy.
At the exhibition, DAS Solar showcased high-efficiency products including the N-type 620W bifacial double glass module, the 645W bifacial double glass module, the 595W bifacial double glass module, and the 475W lightweight module, drawing significant attention from attendees. As a leader in N-type technoloyg, the company has set the world record for conversion efficiency of large-area TOPCon cells for three consecutive times within eight months. The cell achieves an impressive mass production efficiency of up to 26.6%, and a open-circuit voltage of 742mV. Guided by the "one core and three branches" strategy, DAS Solar developed three supporting technologies of the DBC, TSiP, and SFOS, aiming to improve the cell efficiency to 40%.
Equipped with TOPCon 4.0 Plus technology, the 66-cell N-type bifacial double-glass module features 182×210 mm rectangular cells, delivering over 620W of power output. Its design optimizes container space, cutting transportation costs by approximately 4.13%. Compared to modules with 182 mm square cells, it reduces BOS costs by about 1.48% and LCOE costs by around 1.28%, significant cost savings and improved efficiency throughout its lifecycle.
Furthermore, the 475W lightweight half-cell module with frame uses glass-free encapsulation technology, reducing the module's weight by over 70% for the same power output. IEC standards for snow load of 5400 Pa and wind load of 2400 Pa are met by patented frame design. With a removable structure for easy maintenance and repair, the lightweight module is ideal for a variety of applications due to its ease of installation and high compatibility. Additionally, the PV backpacks and portable solar modules displayed also attracted attendee’s attention.
DAS Solar modules have demonstrated exceptional performance, having successfully passed rigorous CE, triple IEC and triple PID. Certified for durability and resistance, it can withstand extended PID, sand and dust, salt mist, and ammonia. As a leading global renewable energy company, DAS Solar has established subsidiaries in Germany, Japan, and Australia, has been spotted on the BloombergNEF Tier 1 PV Module Maker List and consistently ranks among the Top 10 worldwide. DAS Solar has developed extensive partnerships with top distributors in Brazil, provides comprehensive local services across various areas, including installation, project development, business development, logistics, technical support, and domestic service. In the future, DAS Solar will proactively address global climate change and strengthen its path towards international expansion.
