Quzhou, Jul. 25, 2024 - Photovoltaic modules face extreme heat and high temperatures year-round during summer. It is crucial to ensure these modules can endure high temperatures throughout their lifecycle to maintain long-term, safe, and reliable output.
Modules operating outdoors for extended periods are significantly more affected by high temperatures compared to normal weather. Typically, modules need to function outdoors for 30 years and are subject to six major stresses: thermal, humidity, mechanical, chemical, radiation, and electrical. High-temperature environments impose greater demands on the stability of TOPCon cells and the reliability and longevity of the materials and technologies used for module encapsulation.
DAS Solar TOPCon 4.0 Plus cell technology features an enhanced passivation structure, improving UVID and PID performance significantly. Tests and comparisons of mainstream encapsulation solutions were performed to develop a high-reliability, long-lifespan encapsulation technology and solution for N-type TOPCon modules by simulating various environmental stresses. Modules with superior peak power temperature coefficients result in higher power generation gains, as smaller absolute values lead to improved power output. DAS Solar's N-type modules, with a low peak power temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C, outperform traditional modules in power performance. DAS Solar N-type modules generate more energy yield in hot environments, leading to significant economic benefits.
DAS Solar N-type modules underwent temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C in PVEL testing without significant performance degradation, showcasing the durability of their materials, structure, and craftsmanship under extreme environments, earning the "PQP Top Performer" recognition. Additionally, N-type modules excelled in the PV Magazine Module Test, highlighting the company's leadership and reliability in N-type technology. Furthermore, N-type modules passed the rigorous 3x IEC and IEC 63209 reliability tests. In the Hainan outdoor test, DAS Solar N-type modules generated 5.3% more electricity than P-type modules, ensuring long-term investment value over the lifespan of the PV plant.
Equipped with TOPCon 4.0 Plus cells, N-type modules offer high efficiency, high power, high bifaciality, low degradation, and exceptional reliability. DAS Solar N-type modules are rigorously tested for reliability, advanced technology, and stringent material selection to ensure they deliver robust power performance even in extreme environments.
