DAScover the World: Unlocking Possibilities for Eco PV with Flexible Mounting Systems

2025-08-25

As the global shift toward renewable energy accelerates, solar power is expanding beyond traditional ground-mounted utility installations into more diverse and complex environments. From coastal typhoon zones to deserts, hills, and active farmlands, traditional rigid mounting systems often struggle to adapt. DAS Solar's flexible mounting system, however, offers a new solution by blending structural innovation with environmental sensitivity to reshape how solar interacts with land, water, and agriculture.

Reliable Performance against Super Typhoons

Located on the northeast coast of Hainan Island, Ding'an is rich in sunlight and clean energy potential. However, it's also exposed to frequent typhoons, which is a major challenge for PV infrastructure. The 70 MW fishery complementary PV project is the first in Hainan Province to adopt DAS Solar's flexible mounting system. Spanning over roughly 67 hectares of aquaculture ponds, the project needed a structure that could provide strong support while minimizing ecological disruption.

The flexible mounting system features a spatial cable-net design with pre-tensioned steel cables in both east-west and north-south directions. This layout disperses wind loads efficiently, minimizes structural vibration, and enhances torsional resistance. It has passed wind tunnel tests conducted by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (with onset wind speeds >46 m/s) and proven performance in extreme conditions in Xinjiang. In 2024, the project withstood level-17 Typhoon Yagi without damage. TÜV Rheinland conducted rigorous post-storm inspections and verified the structural and electrical integrity of the PV modules, earning high praise from project stakeholders for stability and resilience.

All-weather Durability in Harsh Desert Conditions

At the edge of China's Mu Us Desert, DAS Solar's flexible mounting system is proving its strength. This region is a frontier for solar-powered desert restoration, where PV installations support revegetation and land stabilization. Yet the shifting dunes and uneven terrain present steep engineering hurdles.

DAS Solar's flexible support structure easily adapts to slopes over 60°, contouring to sand ridges and gullies without the need for extensive land grading. Its high-clearance, elevated layout not only protects panels from dust accumulation but also allows for airflow underneath, reducing surface temperature and supporting vegetation growth. By minimizing evaporation and promoting photosynthesis, the system fosters a harmonious relationship between solar development and desert ecology.

Seamless Integration into Mountainous Agricultural Landscapes

In Yunnan Province, where the Ailao Mountains meet fertile valleys, DAS Solar's flexible mounting system has enabled an innovative "PV + herb" model. By installing the system above steep slopes and planting zones, it allows medicinal crops to thrive beneath the solar array, receiving filtered sunlight that supports optimal growth.

Its minimal footprint preserves the native terrain, while its high clearance and wide span avoid disrupting the land or blocking essential light. The result is dual productivity: clean energy generation above, and profitable herbal agriculture below, delivering both environmental and economic benefits to the region.

New Agri-PV Model for Sustainable Agriculture

In Shandong Province, DAS Solar's flexible mounting system is enabling an efficient agri-PV operation across a vast biological farming complex. Installed above mushroom sheds, fruit orchards, and vegetable fields, the system's broad span and low-shading design ensure crops receive adequate light and airflow.

By modifying the local microclimate—reducing excessive heat in summer and retaining warmth in winter—the PV array supports healthier, higher-yield crops. The system's prefabricated components and streamlined installation process also improve project efficiency by over 20%, making it easier to deploy in large-scale agricultural settings. The result is a new benchmark in clean energy-agriculture integration, demonstrating how PV can actively enhance, not hinder, food production.

In recent years, DAS Solar's flexible mounting system has redefined innovation through scenario-based applications, exploring diverse "PV+" models. With high stability against strong winds, excellent adaptability to complex terrains, and outstanding weather resistance, it transforms challenges across different use cases into drivers of technological breakthroughs. Serving as a significant link between energy, agriculture, and ecology, the system enables synergies among clean energy deployment, environmental conservation, and industrial development, contributing to global clean transition and sustainable development.
