DAS Solar Introduces Next-gen N-type Innovations at TaiyangNews Virtual Conference

2025-06-27

Quzhou, Jun. 27, 2025 - DAS Solar, a leader in N-type PV technology, presented its latest advancements in module innovations at the TaiyangNews PV System Technology Trends 2025 – SNEC & Intersolar Product Review virtual conference. Representing DAS Solar was Leo Chang, Director of Global Technical Support, who delivered a featured presentation titled "DAS Solar: Developing a High-Efficiency N-Type Product".

In his address, Leo introduced DAS Solar's comprehensive N-type R&D framework, built around a core platform of TOPCon technology and supported by three advanced pathways—Diamond series Back-contact (DBC), Tandem Silicon-Perovskite (TSiP), and Singlet Fission on Silicon (SFOS). This "One Core, Three Branches" strategy lays the foundation for DAS Solar's ambitious roadmap toward achieving cell efficiencies exceeding 40%.

"By pushing the frontiers of N-type cell engineering, we aim to deliver not only record-setting efficiency, but also real-world performance gains that translate to lower LCOE across diverse applications," Leo said during the session.

DAS Solar's TOPCon 5.0 technology has achieved a cell efficiency surpassing 27%, with key enhancements in PolyFinger design and current transfer management. The company also received TÜV Rheinland's anti-UVID certification, highlighting its leadership in module durability and long-term reliability. Through a comprehensive approach to cell structure, metalation, and packaging, DAS Solar modules now deliver significantly more power than previous generations.

In the meantime, the presentation also emphasized the company's progress in DBC development, which has achieved over 27.2% cell efficiency by eliminating front-side metalation for improved light capture and sleek all-black aesthetics particularly suitable for premium residential installations. DAS Solar's DBC modules are not only performance-driven but also designed with mechanical robustness and lightweight form factors ideal for high-end residential rooftop applications.

To address unique environmental challenges, DAS Solar has engineered specialized product lines such as offshore-resistant modules with corrosion-proof polymer frames and self-cleaning modules with dust-reducing design features. The company's floating PV capability was spotlighted as well, with flagship deployments including the 650 MW floating plant in China and the 74 MW Les Ilots Blandin project in France.

DAS Solar continues to lead the N-type transition by combining technical depth with market adaptability, ensuring that our solutions are not only ahead of the curve, but grounded in the diverse real-world needs of today's energy landscape. With global deployments now spanning more than 30 countries and a robust international R&D and certification portfolio, DAS Solar reaffirms its commitment to accelerating the global clean transition through scalable, sustainable, and high-performance solar solutions.
