Quzhou, Apr. 1, 2025 - DAS Solar, a leader in N-type PV technology, recently joined the Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI), marking a significant step in aligning with global ESG governance standards and building a sustainable value chain.
SSI is a solar-specific sustainability assurance program jointly launched by SolarPower Europe and Solar Energy UK. The initiative aims to build a responsible, transparent, and sustainable solar value chain by combining supply chain integrity with enhanced ESG performance. To date, SSI has garnered the support of over 60 solar companies, covering a substantial portion of the European solar market and the entire industry chain.
In October 2023, SSI officially introduced its ESG standard, establishing a comprehensive set of key indicators to enhance supply chain sustainability. The framework covers environmental impact, human rights, and governance, setting a benchmark for ESG performance in the industry. Through SSI certification, module manufacturers can demonstrate their sustainability achievements throughout the production process, showcasing compliance with international best practices. This certification serves as a powerful signal to key stakeholders—including customers—of a company's steadfast commitment to ESG principles, helping improve operational efficiency and enhance brand credibility.
DAS Solar has consistently demonstrated excellence in ESG practices, actively implementing its DASGREEN initiative. The company is committed to advancing corporate governance, driving technological innovation, promoting green and sustainable development, and fulfilling social responsibilities. By continuously optimizing and strengthening its governance framework, DAS Solar ensures scientific decision-making, effective risk management, and transparent information disclosure, setting industry-leading standards that lay a solid foundation for the company's long-term growth.
In green manufacturing, DAS Solar has made remarkable progress in reducing carbon emissions throughout the entire life-cycle of its products. The company actively incorporates eco-friendly design principles, substitutes hazardous substances, reduces silicon wafer thickness, and improves production techniques and processes. These measures minimize module waste at the source. Additionally, DAS Solar is pioneering advanced recycling technologies for decommissioned modules, utilizing a purely physical dismantling process. The company applies cutting-edge systems such as adaptive frame dismantling, thermal peeling, ultra-fine powder processing, multi-stage component separation, and comprehensive dust removal. This innovative process generates no waste residue, wastewater, or exhaust emissions, while ensuring zero dust pollution.
DAS Solar's four manufacturing bases located in Quzhou, Taizhou, Zhangzhou, and Bengbu have successfully passed TÜV SÜD's carbon verification and obtained ISO 14064 GHG verification. The Zhangzhou and Quzhou factories, in particular, have earned Zero Carbon Factory certification in recognition of their outstanding performance in energy conservation, emission reduction, and clean energy utilization, establishing themselves as role models for green manufacturing.
In talent cultivation and development, DAS Solar upholds the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion, embedding them into every aspect of recruitment, training, and daily operations. The company is committed to creating a workplace free of bias—one that fosters creativity and innovation. DAS Solar has also built a standardized and transparent human resource management system that safeguards employee rights and promotes fair competition. To support professional growth, the company offers a diverse range of career development programs designed to align employees' personal growth with the company's long-term sustainability goals, fostering a collaborative path toward mutual success.
In fulfilling its social responsibilities, DAS Solar adopts a decentralized manufacturing model, driving the growth of local supply chains and strengthening regional industrial ecosystems. This clustering effect enhances the competitiveness of local economies, accelerates the integration of industry resources, and attracts key elements such as talent, capital, and technology. DAS Solar's operational model also contributes to rural revitalization strategies by injecting sustainable momentum into local economic development.
Looking ahead, as a new member of the SSI, DAS Solar will actively support the initiative, embedding ESG strategies at its core. With a vision of fostering harmony between people and nature and advancing sustainable development, DAS Solar is dedicated to accelerating the global green energy transition and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the solar industry.
