DAS Solar Recognized for Innovation at Solar Energy Storage Future South Africa 2024

2024-07-24

Cape Town, Jul. 24, 2024 - DAS Solar, a leader in N-type PV technology, attends the Solar Energy Storage Future in South Africa. The event provides a chance for industry leaders, stakeholders, and innovators to exchange ideas and address the opportunities and challenges. DAS Solar took an active part in the event, showcasing its commitment to driving innovation and penetration in the renewable energy sector.

Thiresan Alwar, Country Manager of DAS Solar, engages in a panel discussion themed "Opportunities and Challenges of PV Projects in South Africa" and sheds light on the local evolving RE landscape. He mentions that due to less severe load shedding compared with 2023, the country has slowed down in solar installations. However, Alwar points out that there’s likely to be a pickup in the commercial segment which tends to build more steadily rather than rushing to prevent blackouts. His insight offers a vision for the future of solar development in the region.

In response to the market trends, he introduces the N-type series modules to the participants. With a wide range of 430W-715W modules, the series covers all-scenario applications. N-type modules have also been upgraded in performance, including high temperature resistance, low degradation, a low temperature coefficient, and excellent load resistance. By incorporating these features, the modules are able to withstand the harsh weather conditions, meeting diverse demands of the local market.

Meanwhile, DAS Solar's unwavering dedication to pioneering advancements in PV technology is duly recognized by the market. The company was honored with the Solar Innovation Forerunners Award, a testament to the company’s technological prowess and relentless pursuit of innovation. DAS Solar has set the world record for conversion efficiency of large area TOPCon cells for three consecutive times within eight months. With N-type technology at its core, the cell achieves an impressive mass production efficiency of up to 26.6%, and a open circuit voltage of 742mV. This award underscores DAS Solar's position as a trailblazer in the industry, setting new standards and pushing the boundaries of what is achievable in the renewable energy community.

As DAS Solar continues to make significant strides in the field of cells and modules, the company will continue to leverage its R&D strength and ensure optimal values for global customers. With a focus on technological innovations, DAS Solar remains at the forefront of driving positive changes and shaping a net-zero future for all.
