DAS Solar phase II N-type modules commence production in Weining, China

2024-01-22

Jan. 22, 2024 - Phase II of photovoltaic modules has been put into production at the DAS Solar Weining manufacturing base, China, signifying the successful completion of the 2.4 GW N-type High-Efficiency Photovoltaic Modules project. The total investment is 310 million yuan, with an output value of 2.5 billion yuan. It will contribute to transforming and upgrading the local economy and promoting green and sustainable development in the Guizhou province.

The Weining base will manufacture N-type high-efficiency PV modules as DAS Solar's largest manufacturing base in Southwest China. As a N-type leader, DAS Solar is dedicated to continuous exploration and rigorous research in N-type technology, consistently surpassing industry standards in cell and module efficiency. DAS Solar has developed the TOCon 4.0 Plus high-efficiency cell that boasts an efficiency of 26.36% and an open-circuit voltage of 742mV, breaking the world record again.

The 2.4 GW N-type High-Efficiency Photovoltaic Modules for phase I of DAS Solar were put into production in March 2023. These products have been sold both domestically and internationally, and these products have taken part in major photovoltaic projects in Guizhou Province, such as the Panjiang Million Kilowatt Photovoltaic Base in Guizhou Province, China. Localized manufacturing at Weining Base will help reduce costs and improve the efficiency of module production, helping the development of green energy in Southwest China.

Moreover, the DAS Solar Weining base has fully implemented a digitized manufacturing model by incorporating multiple automated manufacturing equipment. Using systems such as SRM, CRM, WMS, TMS, MES, SCADA, etc., ensures effective information communication across various stages, resulting in highly digitized manufacturing management.

Additionally, to foster the integration of industry and education, DAS Solar has been committed to talent development in diverse regions. The educational institution and the enterprise have achieved a complementary relationship by combining Weining's human resources with DAS Solar's industrial advantages. Aside from creating jobs locally, this collaboration also addresses talent gaps for local businesses, such as DAS Solar, by providing them with more skilled and specialized technicians.

Over the past few years, DAS Solar has consistently expanded its footprint in decentralized manufacturing by establishing over 10 manufacturing bases. Through this strategic approach, various aspects of module manufacturing, raw material transportation, and module delivery have been reduced in cost and improved in efficiency. As a Tier 1 PV manufacturer, DAS Solar is dedicated to providing global customers with a steadfast commitment to long-term optimal value.
