DAS Solar's N-type modules receive high ratings in PV Magazine testing

2023-11-24

PV Magazine, a global authoritative photovoltaic media, recently published the results of its "PV Magazine Module Test". As a result of their outstanding performance in tests such as visual appearance, EL, power temperature coefficient, and PID, DAS Solar's 72-cell bifacial double glass modules were awarded the stellar rating of "VERY GOOD".

PV Magazine Testing Program Flowchart

For evaluating the performance and power generation of photovoltaic modules, the "PV Magazine Module Test" is a specialized testing service of the PV Magazine group. The service has evaluated various types of modules for their electricity generation performance since its inception.

During the testing process, CEA randomly selected five modules from DAS Solar's mass-produced 72-cell bifacial double glass modules in order to ensure fairness and impartiality. Following CEA's testing procedures, scoring system, and evaluation methods, these selected modules were tested at the Gsola laboratory.

In both appearance and EL tests, five randomly selected DAS Solar’s N-type 72-cell bifacial modules showed no signs of damage or defects. Both assessments received perfect scores. Quality control measures are strict on the DAS Solar 72-cell bifacial module manufacturing line. Each module is rigorously tested before leaving the factory, including insulation, withstand voltage, wet leakage current, static mechanical load, dynamic mechanical load, etc. The EL test, in particular, involves three rounds of testing: before lamination, after lamination, and before shipment, ensuring high quality production of each module. Moreover, the temperature coefficient value for the N-type 72-cell bifacial module in this test is -0.3%, ensuring stable and efficient power generation even at high temperatures. TOPCon cells are more sensitive to humidity than other cells because of their front silver/aluminum paste composition. POE encapsulation offers high reliability, water resistance, low water vapor permeability, and excellent electrical insulation, making it the best choice for encapsulating N-type modules. DAS Solar N-type 72 bifacial double glass modules are encapsulated with a POE+POE film encapsulation, enhancing the modules' resistance to PID.
